A lakeside homestay above Bhimtal.
The Negi family bought the land in 2017 — a slope of fruit trees facing the lake, with a stone outbuilding too small to live in. Three years later, they opened the doors as Blessed Aura: six rooms, a slate-floor verandah, a kitchen that opens to guests after sunset, and a list of house rules small enough to fit on a postcard.
Mornings start with bird call and Anil Negi's pahadi chai on the verandah. By 8am there's a breakfast of mandua roti, fresh fruit from the garden, and whatever the kitchen feels like. Days are unstructured by design: walks to the lake, a drive to nearby Sattal, a long afternoon with a book and the view.
